ブロードベントについて
Broadbent Distillery is Iowa's smallest legal micro-distillery, founded in 2009 by John Broadbent in rural Norwalk, Warren County, south of Des Moines. The one-man operation has become something of a legend in Iowa craft spirits circles—John Broadbent built his own still from scratch using Iowa-grown grains and a deep personal commitment to traditional American whiskey-making.
The distillery's flagship product is Two Jays Iowa Corn Whiskey, a 100% corn, twice-distilled whiskey produced in small batches. Two Jays is available in two styles: a white (unaged) corn whiskey and a slightly barrel-aged version that picks up color and depth from time in charred oak. Both expressions are bottled at 40% ABV and reflect the stripped-back, honest character of corn-forward American whiskey in its most elemental form.
Beyond whiskey, Broadbent produces a grape grappa and a limoncello, rounding out the limited but personal portfolio. John Broadbent remains the distillery's sole operator, managing every step from grain sourcing through distillation and bottling. This hyper-artisanal approach makes Broadbent Distillery one of the most genuinely independent operations in the Midwest.
The distillery is not widely distributed but is available at the farm and through select Iowa retailers. It has been featured in regional media as a model of micro-scale craft production and continues to represent the smallest legal distillery in Iowa.
