Smoky Valley Distillery is an award-winning craft distillery founded in January 2020 by Stan, Michele, and Shane Von Strohe in Marquette, Kansas—a small town in the Smoky Hills region of central Kansas. The Von Strohe family renovated a historic downtown building to house the state-of-the-art distillery, drawing on the area's agricultural heritage and the naturally sweet, sandstone-filtered water of the Kiowa Aquifer to craft their spirits.

The distillery has quickly earned a reputation for quality, winning Best of Kansas at the 2025 Heartland Whiskey Competition for its Rye Single Barrel Whiskey. The full whiskey lineup includes five bourbon expressions and a standout rye. The Straight Bourbon is aged two to four years in American oak at 45% ABV, made with a corn, rye, and malted barley mash bill. Bud and Dewey's is the distillery's best-selling wheated straight bourbon, named after family members, featuring sweet cereal and vanilla notes with an approachable finish. The Smoked Straight Bourbon adds a hickory-smoked twist to the classic profile, also bottled at 45% ABV.

Tours run Thursday through Saturday by appointment and guide visitors through the full production process, culminating in tastings of all ten spirits in the portfolio.
